The City of Pottsville is in the process of drafting an updated Future Land Use and Master Street Plan! These plans help to guide and direct future growth and infrastructure planning within the City Limits.
Unlike zoning, the Future Land Use Plan is not regulatory in nature, but rather a tool and guide used by the Planning Commission and City Council as they consider future decisions and policy regarding zoning and development. Future Land Use Plans are flexible and lay out broad goals and objectives for the City. The Master Street Plan classifies existing streets and proposes potential future connections. These future connections depict that a connection is desired between two points, but the actual connecting road does not need to follow that exact path depicted on the Master Street Plan.
Both Plans are still in draft form at this time; nothing in either plan has been finalized. Your input and participation are needed! We are offering multiple opportunities for participation including an online survey and both a Virtual Zoom Meeting and an In-person meeting at City Hall. The meetings will be interactive so that you can review information and ask questions. Thank you for your time and participation in this process.
